Considering the number of backlinks still on record at the major search engines, they, apparently, had a large and devoted audience. A collection of their entries have been filed at the Internet Archive and can be read with the Wayback Machine to this day.

Similar to the physical space, the web's virtual space generates its own history. Countless sites in the world wide web have been occupied at rent - and left again - by predecessors leaving marks and traces. And, likewise, the time will come to hand over our domain to a mostly unknown successor full of spirits.
Ancient buildings of distinction proudly sport memorial tablets bearing testimony of residents - masterminds, notables, villains - they sheltered in the past. Why shouldn't we do accordingly?
